NEW MODERN FARM IN CRNJELOVO VILLAGE
At a household, owned by Ljubomir Gajic, from Gornje Crnjelovo a dairy farm has been completed. The farm was built by the standards applied in the European Union, and the building of it was supported by the Dutch foundation "People work for people" („Mensen Werken Voor Mensen“). By this, the project "Support to the development of commercial dairies in northeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina" that Dutch foundation started a few years ago, is finished. The aim of Project was to facilitate sustainable development of agricultural production in line with contemporary standards of food production and environmental protection.
Besides representatives of the Dutch Foundation, among the officials who attended the project completion ceremony were Minister of Agriculture Forestry and Water Management Miroslav Milovanovic of Republic of Srpska and the Mayor of Bijeljina Mićo Mićić. They have all stated that this farm is an example of how the high levels of cow milk production and quality through application of required standards of hygiene, can be achieved.
Otherwise, the host from Crnjelovo currently grows 35 cows, of which 26 are used in the process of milking. He plans to increase the number of dairy cows up to 40. Every day he delivers 550 to 600 liters of milk, but he points out that milk price is low, so does profit, despite the incentives.
